Resolver los problemas

Por medio del proceso de recuperación descrito en el Libro Grande, he llegado a darme cuenta de que las mismas instrucciones que dan resultado para mi alcoholismo, lo dan también para muchas otras cosas. Cada vez que me enojo o me siento frustrado, considero el asunto como una manifestación de mi problema principal, el alcoholismo. Mientras «camino» con mis Pasos, mi dificultad está resuelta generalmente mucho antes de haber llegado a la Doceava «sugerencia», y aquellas dificultades que persisten son remediadas cuando me esfuerzo por llevar el mensaje a alguien. ¡Estos principios son los que resuelven mis problemas! Nunca he encontrado una excepción y he sido conducido a una manera de vivir que es gratificadora y útil.

Through the recovery process described in the Big Book, I have come to realize that the same instructions that work on my alcoholism, work on much more. Whenever I am angry or frustrated, I consider the matter a manifestation of the main problem within me, alcoholism. As I walk through the Steps, my difficulty is usually dealt with long before I reach the Twelfth suggestion, and those difficulties that persist are remedied when I make an effort to carry the message to someone else. These principles do solve my problems! I have not encountered an exception, and I have been brought to a way of living which is satisfying and useful.

Generalmente me resulta fácil ser agradable con la gente en el ambiente de A.A. Mientras trabajo por mantenerme sobrio, estoy celebrando con mis compañeros en A.A. nuestra liberación común del infierno de la bebida. Frecuentemente no es tan difícil difundir buenas noticias entre mis viejos y nuevos amigos en el programa.

Sin embargo, en el hogar o en el trabajo, eso puede ser otro cantar. En las situaciones que se me presentan en esas dos áreas de mi vida, las pequeñas desilusiones de la vida diaria son más evidentes y puede ser muy difícil sonreír o llegar con una palabra bondadosa o un oído atento. Fuera de las salas de A.A. es donde me enfrento con la prueba real de la eficacia de mi paseo por los Doce Pasos de A.A.

It’s usually pretty easy for me to be pleasant to the people in an A.A. setting. While I’m working to stay sober, I’m celebrating with my fellow A.A.s our common release from the hell of drinking. It’s often not so hard to spread glad tidings to my old and new friends in the program. At home or at work, though, it can be a difference story. It is in situations arising in both of those areas that the little day-to-day frustrations are most evident, and where it can be tough to smile or reach out with a kind word or an attentive ear. It’s outside of the A.A. rooms that I face the real test of the effectiveness of my walk through A.A.’s Twelve Steps.
